My research interests lie in popular music, technological mediation, reception, and fandom, particularly in American music culture during World War II. My work has appeared in Music and the Moving Image, the Journal of Popular Music Studies, and most recently in my new book, The Business of Bobbysoxers: Cultural Production in 1940s Frank Sinatra Fandom (Oxford University Press, 2024).

I have over a decade of experience in academic research, teaching, student support, career coaching, curriculum development, admissions, and arts administration. I am committed to helping students who are pursuing the arts and humanities learn how to identify the multifaceted skill sets they develop in these fields that can lead to a variety of rewarding career paths after college.

Based in the Pacific Northwest, I have worked with the University of Washington Graduate School, University of Washington School of Music, and the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle.
